Psalms 25:4-5

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Since we last posted, we have had 2 ear infections, a BIG snow fall and Valentine's Day. Josh and I were able to sneak away for a couple of hours for Valentine's Day thanks to GiGi and Gmax. I will have to say, Blake has no problems spending some quality time with his grandparents, he absolutely adores them both. Thanks GiGi and Gmax for reminding us and letting us have a few hours of "grown up" time.
Blake is still struggling with persistent ear infections, we are hoping that with the change of seasons there will be a change in the number of ear infections we have to deal with. We have had 6 since October 2009, waaaaaaaaay too many!!! Blake is still weighing in at 30 pounds and just over 3 feet tall and surprising us with new things everyday. He is talking in 2 to 3 words/sentences now, can count to 10 and sing his ABC's with just a tiny bit of help, he is simply amazing. He has found a new love with the garage doors, he loves to push the button and watch them go up or down ALL DAY LONG!!! Can you tell it is driving us all a little crazy? For a week after discovering this wonderful invention all he said was "door, door, door etc......" We have left the era of Horton Hears a Who, and now we have discovered Barney, yes Barney, I said I would never let any child of mine watch Barney, but he does. Oh yes, and the best news yet (sarcastically) is that Blake has been termed a "head banger." What does this mean you might ask, well at our last ear infection visit to the doctor I mentioned that Blake will hit himself on the head or bang his head on the floor or the wall when he is mad or being disciplined, the doctor simply said oh yes, we call them "head bangers." WHAT??? It absolutely drives me crazy, but apparently it is normal in some kids. I don't call that "normal" and we are working hard to get past this stage quickly.
It is hard to believe that Blake is 21 months old, we will soon be celebrating his 2nd birthday and yes I have already started planning so mark you calendars for May 29th 2010!!!
Here are some pictures of the past few weeks, hope you enjoy!!!

Here is Blake playing with Marley, he first tried to climb into the shopping basket himself, that didn't work of course and so we put Marley in instead!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!
Blake LOVES balloons, so in addition to his owl his daddy and I made at Build-a-Bear he got this balloon which he still totes around the house.

We are all excited about getting snow this year, we have had enough for this year though. Blake loves it as much as his daddy does, mommy just likes the way it looks!!!

Aunt Mindy, Cousin Hayden and Sarah came to visit and and to play one afternoon.

I absolutely LOVE this smile!!!

Finally...A true hair cut.

So I manage to take Blake to get his haircut...finally!! It was VERY traumatic for both of us, needless to say he did not like it at all. After all was said and done my baby turned into a little boy right in front of my eyes!!! He is so big and learning so much these days. I will have to brag a little he knows almost all of his alphabet letters and he is learning to count now. It is unbelievable how much and how fast he can learn, it is true what they say, little ones are like sponges, they just soak it all in. No one could have ever told me that my heart would melt a thousand times when I hear him say mama and know he is talking to me. Being a parent is the absolute best, it makes life make sense!!!
Ok, no more sappy stuff, as of today Blake is 30 pounds and 3 feet tall, no I am not kidding, the child is over half my height. We are learning to deal with ear infections real well, we have just gotten over our 4th ear infection, no way getting around that, both mom and dad had their rounds to.
Funny things that has happened lately: he has learned what a belly button is and loves to stick his finger into every ones belly button. He decided to surprise us a few weeks ago by climbing out of his crib and coming into our room at 530 am, needless to say we removed the bumper from the crib that morning!!
He is still a ball of energy and joyful spirit and we are loving every minute of it. We hope you all had a happy new year and hope this year is full of promise and joy for everyone.

Happy New Year!!

DeeDee, T-daddy and Uncle John came to visit for the New Year. We had such a great time spending time just being with one another. We had Christmas all over again and Santa arrived for a second time!!! Uncle John celebrated his 16th birthday on the 4th of January so we were able to have a birthday party/dinner before they left. Here are a few pictures from their visit:

Blake with Uncle John.

Blake loves his new art table that DeeDee and T-daddy brought. We spend lots of time coloring here.
Giving some love to great grandmama Evans. We were lucky enough to spend an evening celebrating Christmas and New Years with my grandparents and cousin Jeb and his family.
Now that is a BIG truck, Blake can even ride in the back of it.

Trying to get into the Christmas gifts before it is time!

There is a Santa Claus!!!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas morning, Blake had a great time and Santa was VERY good to him. Here are a few pictures of some of the toys Santa left.

Playing in the ball pit!
Playing with the new car set.
Love this picture, I bought Blake some bedroom slippers, he did not like the way they felt so this is the only picture I got with them on!!
The joy of Christmas morning.

Some of what Santa brought.....there is more yet in the dining room-a ball pit and a water table.
A lesson learned by Miss Claus this year: when you start christmas shopping early you tend to buy TOO MUCH!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

These pictures I took when we first put the Christmas tree up. Blake loved the lights and loved to sit and watch the train go around under the tree.
My sweet little guy is growing Soooooo fast.
Blake loved the train under the tree.
Love this picture!! Caught in the act!!

Happy Halloween and Wiggles Pictures!!!

So I am way past due for an update, here are Halloween pictures and our visit to see the Wiggles.
We managed some time outside before the cold winter set in.
Bath time-this was taken after our first hair trim.

We took Blake to see the Wiggles in concert in November. He seemed to enjoy it once he got use to the loud music and changing lights.

We had a great Halloween, Blake was the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
It was so hot that afternoon/evening Blake did not keep his outfit on for long, here he is running around topless after a quick walk around the block.

End of Summer and More Swingset Pictures

A long over due update... Blake is walking, running, talking and into EVERYTHING!!! I am totally exhausted by the end of the day because he is full force from the beginning to end and is such a boy, which I am glad about!!! He will be 17 months old this week and that is hard to believe!!

Word list: truck, car, light, dog, sun, shoes, boat, ball, book, tree, stick, bye-bye

Sounds: train (choo, choo) lion (roar), monkey (ooo, aaa) airplane (swoosh) car (vroom) truck (vroom, vroom) dog (who, who), and the newest clock (tick-tock)

He loves to sing the itsy bitsy spider and does the motions, as well as If your Happy and You Know it (he claps and stomps at the right times) and loves The Wheels on the Bus (prefers the shhh shhh shhh part of the song)

Blake's a big dancer loves to dance to the music, so we have music time at our house daily!! It gets all the excess energy out, you know:)

Believe it or not Blake can correctly identify letters of the alphabet: D, T, M,G,C and Z are our mastered letters, needless to say GiGi and Blake have one-on-one school time during the week.
GiGi and Blake have a wonderful relationship, she is wonderful with him and I am so lucky and blessed that she has given so much time and love to Blake. We love you GiGi!!

Josh and I spent 5 days away from Blake in September, this was the first time we have ever been away from him. I think I about had a nervous breakdown before we left, but in the end it was good for us but I don't want to do that again for a while!! Blake stayed with GiGi and Gmax and they had a great time.

All in all we are doing well, finally starting to settle in at our new house, finally putting some things on the wall and relaxing a little. We love it here, we miss our old neighbors but the house and the yard are wonderful!!

P.S. Heather, I hope your are enjoying the pictures!!
