Psalms 25:4-5

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!!
Blake and I had so much fun taking these pictures, he actually didn't mind the santa suit at all!
I thought these were some great shots and I have had a hard time deciding which one I should send out, but you will be sure to get one or the other! I tried to get a shot of all my "children" but the two fury ones would not cooperate as you can see.
Blake had his 6 month check-up yesterday and yes with that comes shots but I think its more tramatic for mom than him :) The doctor said he is perfect and that he is doing just fine. He now weighs in at 21 lbs 6.4 ounces and is 29 inches long (95th percentile in both areas). He loves to play with the paper on the doctors table, wish I could bring some home! He is such a sweet baby, he is learning to "love" (our hugs) and give kisses (in the baby way). He is babbling a lot and has the best laugh, we love to get him going. He is an absolute joy and a true blessing.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!! We have so much to be thankful for! Blake is now 6 months old, unbelievable how time flies. On November 16th Blake was baptised, it was a beautiful day, Dr. Dudley and Dr. Filston (who married Josh and I) did the service and it was great. Blake was very comfortable with Dr. Dudley and was fasinated by the shiny cross that was around his neck. The day was even more special because it was my grandmother Louise's birthday, we know she was shining down on us and saying "isn't this special." Thanks mom and dad, aunt Martha and uncle Chuck for a great afternoon luncheon!
Thanksgiving was great, we were with the Metcalf clan at GiGi's house, Blake met his cousins Eli and Riley and can't wait till next year when they will be running around and playing together. We had a great day and loved spending time with family!
Blake is now sitting on his on and is trying to crawl, I guess that will be the next "big" milestone. He has a tooth that has poked its head up but is being stubborned to come all the way out. Lots of drool these days we are just waiting for the whole thing to arrive now!
He is so much fun, he loves his puppy dogs and laughs when they are playing together.
As for now we are getting ready for Christmas, Blake loves the lights on the Christmas tree and this morning he had a surprise under the tree, the polar express train has come to visit and he loves to watch it go around under the tree and hear the whistle blow! Lots of fun times ahead and we are looking forward to each one!

Happy Halloween and then some.....

Future Gamecock!!

This is what you call a "mouth full," Blake decided to unload on mommy!

We took a drive to the mountains to see the changing colors, don't worry we did not pull a Britney Spears.

Happy Halloween!!!

My friend Bolen and me on Halloween

The cutest owl I've ever seen!

This is Blake and Mary English, she lives across the street, they are just 3 weeks apart and I thought this picture was priceless.

Halloween day afternoon, mommy trying to get some shots in, the winning shot of the day!

We almost have this sitting up thing down pat!

Dee-Dee sent me some winter gear, so I was trying it on for daddy. I hope we have some snow so I can wear it.

Blake loves to be in his walker, he has even taken a step or two!

Blake in his johnny jump up, which he loves, espically when we lift it up and pretend it is a swing

I can't quite figure out how to add text that come before the pictures but I will work on that for next time. Blake is now almost 6 months old, hard to believe!! He now weighs in at 19 lbs 13 ounces and 28 inches long. My father-in-law laughs at me when I am holding Blake because he is literally half my size!
As you can see we introduced Blake to the johnny-jump and his walker and he loves both, he is figuring out he can move both and is delighted when he does.
Halloween was a "treat" and Blake was a tropper for all of his photoshoots. As you can tell I took a ton of pictures of him in his owl costume, but how could I resist he is just too cute!!!
Josh wanted to take us to the mountains to check out the leaves last weekend, we enjoyed getting out of town for a few hours but I will have to say the leaves at home were a lot prettier.
We are still loving life and love watching this little, or should I say, big guy grow. Everyday there is something new and life is never boring, to say the least.

Blake, aunt Niki and soon-to-be uncle Chris

Blake and Berkley

Blake dressed and ready for the birthday party.

Blake and T-daddy

Blake trying to figure this thing out!

Blake in his bouncy/entertainment center.

We have had a busy couple of weeks! DeeDee, T-daddy and Uncle John came for a visit a couple of weekends ago and we were so happy to see them! Blake was very excited to hang out with T-daddy, Uncle John and daddy on Saturday to watch some football games while mommy and DeeDee went shopping. The visit was short but we loved having them here, we are looking forward to the holidays when we can spend some more time with them.

This past weekend Aunt Niki and soon-to-be Uncle Chris were in town (they live in Atlanta) and we were very happy to see them too. Blake was still feeling the effects of shots he had on Thursday so aunt Niki didn't get to spend as much time with Blake as we would have liked. We hope the next time we see them we will be a much happier little boy.

We also had our second birthday party on Saturday, my friend Thomas turned 1. I sure can't wait till I can dive into a cake like he did! Blake did really well at his second party, there were lots a kids their, some louder than others but it was fun and we got some cool bubbles that Blake loves to watch.

Blake had his second round of shots this past Thursday and they were not very fun. The day of the shots were fine but the weekend, we saw the effects! Oh well, we do what we have to do but Blake nor mommy like them to much! The doctors visit (other than the shots) went very well, Blake is a "normal, healthy little boy." He now weighs 17 lbs 9 ounces and is 27 inches long, he is in the 90th percentile of height, weight and head circumfrence, he is a growing boy for sure!

We are still enjoying the bananas and applesauce (applesauce the perferred fruit) we tried peaches but they really upset Blake's tummy, so for now we will stick we applesauce and bananas. Blake is rolling from his back to his tummy, we are still trying to master the tummy to back, which is odd because back to tummy is suppose to be harder, oh well we will do the hard stuff first I suppose. He is trying is hardest to sit up on his on, he does not like to be laying down to play much anymore he likes to be sitting up, he can tripod himself for about 30 seconds right now, so we anticipate he will be sitting up soon. He is also teething now, he is drooling like crazy and has to have something cold and hard in his mouth at all times. Tylenol has become a nessecity at times so maybe a tooth soon? we shall wait and see!

4 Months Old and Rice Cereal!!!

I like this stuff, can I have some more!

And some more bananas!

Here comes those bananas!

Daddy took me to my first soccer game at USC upstate this past weekend. Ssh... don't tell dad but mommy wouldn't like that these plaids don't match.

P.S. No chicken legs for me, check out my ham bone legs.

I hung out with daddy all weekend while mommy worked we had so much fun.

This is good stuff, give me some more please!!

Helloooooooooo rice cereal!

Here I am with mommy at my first birthday party, my friend Kate was turning 3.

Here I am trying to sit up all by myself!

Last week Blake finally had his first taste of "real food," we introduced him to rice cereal and he loved it!! He looked at us like "its about time you two!" This morning we added a little bananas to the mix and thought that was great too. He is growing so much and so fast, everyday there is something new and exciting going on and its so much fun to watch him see things for the first time. Here are a few moments from the past week or two.

Here I am sitting up so tall in my bumbo seat!

3 Months Old and a Trip to Pawley's

Sweet sleeping angel

I can't believe we caught all of us smiling at the same time, mommy was very happy!!

Hanging out with G-max and Marley. Don't tell anyone but I am really enjoying the football game on t.v., a really BIIIIIG t.v. :)

P.S. Santa, Baby Einstein would look really good on a t.v. that size!!

Mommy and daddy showing me the sand and surf! I loved the sand and the water until a big wave came and soaked my diaper!!

Mommy, daddy and Blake at Pawley's :)

Relaxing in daddy's arms, I love to have no clothes on!

Up close and personal, but isn't he a beautiful baby!!

Blake in the midst of all his animals

Blake with daddy's hat on :)

Blake with Berkley, he's not quite sure of the furry animal!

Blake with his favorite, Mr. Ruff Ruff!

Blake is a true joy, we are truely amazed at how much he changes on a daily basis, he is so much more alert and smiles all the time. He is learning his name and communicates with us with his wonderful sound of "baby talk." He turned 3 months old on August 29, its hard to believe that he is now almost 4 months old. We haven't had an official weigh in but we think he is probably around 14-16 pounds and length is probably 25-26 inches long! Blake is very strong, he holds his head up very well, I don't have to support it at all anymore and he is trying to sit up and roll over on his own so it won't be long I have a feeling!
I went back to work and we made it through the first week like a charm, in some ways it felt good to get back to work although my heart was still at home. Josh's mom Jeanie is keeping Blake while I work and they seem to have a great time and that allows me to go to work with a clear mind that he is taken care of, what a blessing!!
We took Blake to Pawley's Island last weekend, Josh's best friend from college was getting married and we took the opportunity to introduce Blake to the ocean again! This time went MUCH better than the last, he loved to put his feet in the sand and water until I let a wave soak his diaper and I think that scared him a little. It is very special to me to take Blake to Pawley's because that is where I spent my summer vacation as a child, my family use to rent the Gary Cottage every year and we have many wonderful memories there. The pictures are taken right in front of the Gary Cottage, so it is very special to me. We had wonderful time and survived tropical storm Hannah that came through that Friday night but the rest of the weekend was blue skies. I hope that maybe one day we can take Blake to Pawley's for a summer vacation, it truely is a magical place.
