Psalms 25:4-5

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

My REALLY BIG Boy Bed!

This past weekend we moved Blake from his toddler bed to his "Big Boy" bed. He was SO excited about it and loves to just hang out with his animals on his bed. We also had a visit from DeeDee this weekend and Blake has LOVED having her here and they have had a lot of fun!
Here are a few shots from the past couple of weeks:

Happy Halloween

It has been an eventful past few weeks.....Blake came down with a "fever virus" a few weeks ago that stuck around for about a week, then was hit with the croup, NOT fun at all!! I ended up with the same virus a few days into Blake's and that was just a pain! We made it through with only one trip to the ER, a VERY long night. We have all made a recovery and daddy has manage to escape the virus as of now (knock on wood).
Blake would not have anything to do with his Halloween costume this year, so we spent Halloween at home passing out candy. We did manage to get some cute shots of Blake with the pumpkin daddy carved.

We went to Niven's apple orchard to pick out a pumpkin..what a GREAT place.

Gigi and Blake made Halloween brownies which were enjoyed by all!

A Fun Filled Weekend

So we had a really busy weekend, but a really fun weekend. Blake and I spent Friday morning at the Children's Museum with Harker and his mommy. We had a really fun time, Blake and Harker "shopped" at the BiLo grocery store, played at "grandma's farm", built things with blocks in the construction zone and then got soaking wet at the water table. The boys had a super fun time! Friday night we met our good friends, the Pittmans, downtown for pizza and then to the Boo In the Zoo. Blake, Kate and Jake had such a good time together walking around the zoo picking up treats at the "treat stop." Blake decided to be Lighting McQueen, and I was simply thrilled he would even put a costume on. Saturday morning Josh and I took Blake to see Sesame Street Live, Blake loved it and Josh and I are just thankful it was not one on those "I wish we hadn't moments." Sunday was another successful trip to church, this time Blake did not cry once except one tiny time when he was in big group, we think this is a HUGE step and pray he will continue to feel safe and comfortable and eventually look forward to time there. Sunday night I had a baby shower for a dear friend at my house and Blake was a ham, he loved having everyone here and had a great time entertaining all of us. At this moment we are all tucked into bed and pray for a good nights rest. Ahh.....a fun filled weekend indeed.

Blake enjoying his cookie on the way home from lunch on Saturday, check out the mustache!!

"Wash our hands please," Blake does not like to have dirty hands.

A Photographer in the Making???

Blake loves to get a hold of my camera, this morning was no different, but today I was totally impressed by what kind of shots he got, here are a couple...
"my golf cart"
"marley"
"my truck"

For 2 years old, I'd say these are pretty good!

One of Those Days

So today has been "one of those days," we started the day at 4:45, yes, that is correct 4:45. Not sure if something was hurting, was he cold or hot, was he hungry or did he just want his mommy? I don't know.... but it was something and we didn't go back to sleep until 12:30 this afternoon!! WOW...what a LOOOOONG morning it has been! I will have to say he is a trooper, he managed to go run the errands mommy needed to do without acting as tired as he was...YEA! However, trying to get him ready to run errands was the harder task at hand, first we had to poop, and yes of coarse this was AFTER he was fully dressed shoes and all, to go to the store. So when we came in to change that I had to change the full outfit because it was soaking week because he had gone outside with the dogs!! So I left him in his room with a fresh diaper and went to do something else real quick and this is how I found him when I got back...
YES DiDi...those are the boots he would never put on when I wanted him too!!! Talk about God telling you to slow down and take it easier...at that point I had to just sit down and have a good laugh!
Here are a few more cute pictures in "the boots."

Fall is FINALLY here!!!

FINALLY...Fall is in the air and we are soooo glad!! Fall has to be the best season, if you ask me. I love everything about fall, the colors, the cooler weather and the anticipation of the holiday seasons. Welcome Fall we are so glad you are here!!

Blake continues to amaze us each day at 28 months Blake:
Is communicating very well, each day there is something knew he can verbalize, he loves to tell us "one more time" for something we need to do again, "mommy has to go to work" and "she will be back" when I am leaving for work.
His hair is VERY long and he hates getting it cut so we go as long as we can between hair cuts.
His eyes are still stark blue, he can claim them from his daddy, and both great-granddaddy's.
His favorite things are trains, BIG trucks, being outside, his blanket and pap, Marley and Berkley, looking for the moon and stars, listening for the train whistle, and let us not forget the best of all the ICE CREAM TRUCK.
His favorite shows are Super Why, Dora the Explore and Diego, The Wonder Pets, The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny and that super-dee-duper purple dinosaur Barney.
His favorite movies: Horton Hears a Who is still number 1, followed by the Lion King
He absolutely hates loud noises that are at a close distance, hence the reason the "Big Dig" in Greenville this weekend only last 5 minutes for us.
He loves to color and draw, driving his golf cart and john deere tractor around on the driveway, playing on the swing set, climbing his rock wall, dancing and singing to his favorite songs and building all kind of things out of his blocks.
He loves to sing the "La La" song by Rod Stewart.

We took a HUGE step this last weekend...it is terrible to say but we have not been to church since Blake was born. I will not give you all the reason, or excuses, as you may be thinking but we FINALLY went as a family this past Sunday. I will have to say I was more anxious than anyone, but Blake did fine, they said it took about 10 to 15 minutes for him to relax a little but by the time we came to get him he was playing with the blocks on the floor and didn't look traumatized at all, which filled this mamas' heart with joy. They say it gets better each time, I hope that is the same with us.

Here are some priceless moments from this past week.

A boy and his dogs, there is no better friendship than this!

This is just one of those priceless moments.
